"I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called." ....Ephesians 4:1
Has it dawned upon me yet that the Spirit of God within me is a real living Person? I am but an earthen vessel, but in that earthly container I carry a treasure of unspeakable worth, even the Lord Jesus of glory in the person of His Holy Spirit! All the worry, fret and frustration of God's children would end right here if their eyes were opened to the wealth of resources that they carry around within them, resources sufficient for every demand and every need. All their flippancy too would cease if they realised the greatness of this treasure that is hidden in their hearts.
If today, you have only a dollar in your pocket, you can afford to walk casually along the street knowing that it matters little if you lose your money, for there is not much value at stake. But if the treasure you carry is worth a thousand dollars, the position is vastly different, and your whole demeanour will be different too. There will be great gladness in your heart but no careless jaunting along the road; and once in a while you will slacken your pace and, putting your hand into your pocket, you will quietly feel and check your treasure and then with joyful solemnity continue on your way. Yes, I say it with the utmost seriousness: you, who have been born again by the Spirit of God, carry Almighty God around with you everywhere you go!
